Fortnite’s Darth Vader NPC, running on GPT-4o, will walk you through bootstrapping a weapons-grade uranium enrichment facility — if you know how to ask. Researcher Dave Kuszmar found ten distinct ways to know how to ask.

Napalm recipes, card counting, uranium enrichment — all out of a Star Wars character standing in a battle royale map. When Kuszmar disclosed this to Epic, a technical director responded: “It’s a feature, not a bug, and it works as intended.”

That answer is correct. The same methods work across nearly every major LLM — and they all fold. Every other lab, when this surfaces, has a “we take safety seriously” statement ready. Epic skipped the costume.

Vader has no PR department. Turns out that’s the honest version.
