Brands are secretly flooding Reddit with AI-written posts so that ChatGPT and Gemini cite Reddit recommending their products. Reddit — which has paid data deals with OpenAI and Alphabet — is now deploying its own AI to detect and delete that AI content.

So the loop is: AI trains on Reddit → brands spam Reddit with AI to manipulate AI → Reddit uses AI to clean Reddit so AI can keep training on Reddit.
